RunDisney has released race dates through April 2023! Races are jam packed with Disney characters, music, and our favorite part - costumes! That's right, the race course is one of the few places that adults can dress up in full costume at Disney. When they say every mile is magic, they really mean it!
Coming in November is the Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon weekend. Choose to participate in the 5K, 10K, Half Marathon and the 2 course challenge. Participants of the half and 2 course challenge receive entry to the after party at the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival! Tickets are also available for purchase. Race registration opens on March 22. Be ready to have fast fingers because these races fill up quickly!
Can't make it to Disney? A virtual race option is available too! Registration opens on March 25th.
Next up in January 2023 is the 30th anniversary of the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend! If you have to pick just one race weekend to attend during the next year, this is the one. Since it is a big anniversary and still during the WDW 50th anniversary, we can only imagine what a grand celebration it will be! The themes for each race are not yet available, but historically have been based around Mickey and Friends.
Race options include the 5k, 10k, half marathon, marathon, the Goofy Challenge (39.3 miles in 2 days) and the Dopey Challenge (48.6 miles, includes all 4 races). General registration is on April 19th and virtual registration opens on April 22nd.
Coming in February 2023 is the Disney Princess Half Marathon weekend. I'm a bit partial to this race since it was my first half marathon back in 2012. Plus you get to see both men and women dressed as princesses, what's more fun than that? Did I run an entire 13.1 miles in a Snow White costume? Oh yes I did! Each race has a different princess theme and the medals are always so beautiful.Â
General registration opens June 21st, virtual on June 24th.
In April 2023, Disney will host it's second Springtime Surprise. As you can tell from it's name, the theme of each event will be a surprise! The first Springtime Surprise (coming up in just a few weeks) has brought back the 5k scavenger hunt that was eliminated years ago prior to the launch of the Star Wars race weekend. Finger crossed that Disney will continue with the scavenger hunt in years to come, it sounds like an amazing time!
General registration will open on August 23rd with the virtual on August 26th.
All RunDisney events include kids race with varying distances. Even the youngest of tots are able to crawl to the finish line.Â
